Initial on-the-field assessment
Every facility should have a specific predetermined plan of action in case of an emergency, referred to as an Emergency Action Plan or EAP. The Emergency Action Plan should be practiced and yearly and displayed in an accessible area and may need to be initiated in the case of, but not limited to, cervical spine injuries, head injuries, loss of limb, serious bleeding, shock, open displaced fractures, head stress and cardiovascular arrest. The EAP should include the address of venue, directions with a map, emergency personnel contact list, emergency equipment and location, and role of first responders.
